House Democrats to Hold Press Conference Calling for Substantive Action on Voting Rights

Congressman John Lewis (D-GA), Congressional Hispanic Caucus Chairwoman Linda Sánchez (D-CA), Congressional Black Caucus Chairman G. K. Butterfield (D-NC), Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus Chairwoman Judy Chu (D-CA) and Congresswoman Terri Sewell (D-AL) will hold a press conference tomorrow calling for substantive action to protect and restore voting rights.  Two years after the Supreme Court decided to dismantle key provisions of the Voting Rights Act and ahead of the 50th anniversary of the landmark legislation, the House Democratic leaders will urge action to ensure that every citizen has the right to vote and that every vote is counted as cast.
